Holy cow..it works! Chilled food for 3 meals. I was skeptical. This is a new product… different than the packs of ice-style alternatives…you plug it in, and it’s DONE! Fill it up – upwards of 3 meals – and you’re good to go. There are three “sections” inside the machine that a 3-section plate sits atop. The cold plate underneath chills two of the three sections. The third, is the un-chilled area so the colder food can turn, then warm-up for 30 minutes before the door opens. Voila!You can program it each day, or just adhere to a schedule. It’s completely customizable. OR, you can manually open the door via the app., then manually close it. Otherwise, you configure how long the door is open – feeding time – and even if your pet is still feeding, the sensors detect the small movement and will NOT close the door until it stops. We tested it for a few days, got him used to the “ding dong” bell and quiet click, whirr of the door opening, and now he knows those sounds mean FOOD!Dry food is easier… and a pet that won’t wolf it all down in a second.. you don’t need this. We can’t dump a pile of food for our kitty and hope all works out. He’ll simply gorge himself on it, throw up, and be miserable. No dry food… just wet… 1, 3oz can per section on the plate w/a bit of water added…done. He’s a sloppy eater, so he manages to push food up and over the plate section…so…there are crumbs leftover. Big deal. VERY easy to clean. In fact, it’s cleaner than the bowl and the usual mess he makes.So far, so great! We’ve only tested it for one meal at around 3pm when we’re not around. The real test will be 2 or even 3…for the whole day – E.g. if we go to the beach, or something. We’d still have a sitter if we’re gone overnight, but even then… the sitter can’t come at certain hours, so…use this thing and they can arrive at normal times, leave, and he’ll still be fed at the proper time. For us, that’s 9am, 3pm, and 11pm.Not sure about chilling the third meal, because it’ll be over the un-chilled section of the plate below… but… again, just make that the first feeding zone. He doesn’t mind the machine…any noise – it’s whisper-quiet – or how tall it is – he’s used to eating lower to the floor.The transformer that plugs into the extension cord we set up…gets VERY warm. It’s not hot enough to burn anything, but it’s much warmer than expected. This is likely due to the energy required to run what is essentially a small refrigerator. So far, so great… and we are very thankful for the invention!
Ingenious device that gives you peace of mind. The media could not be loaded. I spent so much time looking for something like this!! As someone who travels a lot for work, I’m always struggling to find a reliable person to come over to feed my cat with her wet food. All wet food feeders I had found so far used ice to keep the food, and it means it will be good for maybe a bit more than 12h. I was about to look for an engineer to design something that was like a “mini fridge” for wet food, until I found this device right when I was in a trip and the person who was supposed to feed my cat refused to enter the apartment because the cat was hissing inside. I have to say my cat was not comfortable with the device at first. She was scared of all noises coming from the feeder and was refusing to eat from it. It took me more than a week to get her used to it, and I had to be patient and slowly teach my cat to approach the feeder and eat from it. But once she got used to it, was a whole peace of mind!!! I had to move it to another location and it seems to have helped my cat to feel more comfortable. The device is so far very reliable, easy to set up the feeding schedule. the device won’t let you set up a feeding schedule that ends more than 72h after you first set it up which means 3 days this the maximum you can be away without having something coming over to feed your cat. But still, it’s a breeze!!! Some things to consider: The compartments are pretty big. As my cat does not eat much at once, there usually food remaining when the feeding time is over and the lid is closed. For me it’s good because in my recent trip, I was able to set up a new feeding schedule and my cat had a bit more food to wait for me to come home in the evening. It would be much better to have 5 smaller compartments and being able to feed the cat 5 days, but I cannot complain!! The device is sturdy, the app is pretty good and easy to set up the feeding schedule. It gives you the report of how many times you cat came to eat, and how long the cat took eating. There was a power outage while I was away but it did not disturb the feeding schedule.Bear in mind the device is pretty tall and won’t be suitable for kittens. My cat is 9lb and she can eat easily from the compartment (that is kinda deep), but it will be hard for smaller kitties.I can say I’m VERY HAPPY so far with this device.
Great device but my kitties were not fans. I give it a 4 because the device was excellent, but kitties said no way!When I saw this I thought it was the perfect solution for my cats. They eat small portions at a time, multiple times a day. During the week I am not home for the mid-day feeding.Problem is they were not fans of the devices. Not sure if it was because they were big (bigger than I realized), plastic or if they just didn’t like the whole experience. Would not eat from them. Tried multiple times, over a couple of weeks, while I was home, while I wasn’t. The device itself worked perfectly, easy to schedule and use the app, easy to clean, refrigeration was spectacular, but a very expensive device to not be able to use. The little bell when the door opened was not annoying and got their attention. They just didn’t like it 🙁
