Absolutely the Best Litter Box. I’ve always had cats. I’ve spent my life scooping stinky litter boxes, trying different kinds of litter; clumping, non-clumping, open-top boxes, closed-top boxes, and using a Litter Genie. Even after scooping the box ,the smell of litter still permeates the room. For the past 6 years I’ve only had 1 cat and just cleaning the box with 1 cat was stinky and complicated. I recently rescued a cat and couldn’t imagine cleaning a 2-cat litter box. So began my online search for an alternative to the traditional litter box. I found this PetSafe automatic box and spent days researching it online. As usual, there are good reviews and bad reviews. I wasn’t even completely sure how it worked, but I bought it because it could only be better than what I had. I have to say I love it and have no regrets! The “box” is the disposable cardboard box that holds the crystals (very different and much better than traditional litter). What you’re purchasing is actually a plastic lid that sits on top of the disposable cardbox box, but it’s so much more than just a lid! I love the raking mechanism and the way it pushes the waste into the reservoir underneath the plastic hood. Traditional litter, both clumping and non-clumping will not work with this because it gums up the rake. The crystals actually dessicate the waste and draw out the moisture, making it a hard clump. If my cat leaves a large amount of waste, the rake will occasionally get hung up during the cleaning cycle. Fixing this is easy, I just put on a rubber glove and pull the hardened waste out of the rake and reset the raking cycle, then it pushes it easily into the reservoir. I can get about 30 uses out of each disposable box and I base this on when I can start smelling urine coming from the reservoir (this is with 2 cats using it). Now about the disposable boxes; yes, they are a little expensive, but I’ll pay basically any price to not have to deal with regular litter. After reading reviews about urine leaking from the bottom of the cardboard box, I bought a plastic mat and put it on the floor underneath the reservoir area, it’s never been wet and I’ve never had a problem with urine soaking through the box. When it’s time to change out the box, I just put the top back on (following the instructions) and then use packing tape to seal all 4 sides of the box and then slip it into a large garbage bag. One of the things I really like about this method, is that the plastic lid is easy to clean after you remove the used cardboard box. I just take a disposable bleach wipe and wipe down the entire lid and the rakes and then vacuum the area to clean up any stray crystals. This automatic box is much cleaner and more sanitary than traditional boxes and there truly is no odor. It’s refreshing to go into the room where the litter box is and not smell litter. I’m actually getting ready to purchase a second automatic box because I found out my rescue cat is pregnant! I wouldn’t recommend the automatic box for tiny kittens, but I plan to unplug the boxes, let the cats and kittens use them, and then plug in and rake while I supervise so that no one gets trapped in the rakes or under the hood.
Works as expected. Recently PurchasedPet info:IndoorKitten: 13 weeks oldRescued: 2 weeks ago (at 11 weeks)Other pets: 2 dogs (1 pit bull and 1 puggle)Diet:Dry Diet/Free to eat whenever: Nature’s Variety® Instinct® Original Kitten Food – Natural, Grain Free, ChickenWet Diet/One can a day: Nulo MedalSeries All Life Stages Wet Cat Food (flavor varies)Note: I used a detailed Reddit post about what to feed my kitten. I used the recommendation of the shelter on how often to feed my kitten.Product age: 1 weekCover type: uncoveredProduct Review:Overall, the product works great. Have not had to touch the product since in use. Based on the meter, as of this morning, she has used (or has been in) it 41 times since start (kittens tend to go more often than cats). Literally no smell of urine. However, the poop smell can be a lot. Do not stop reading here, we were transitioning our kitten’s diet from the shelter food, to what is listed above and now that she’s settled, the poop smell has gone away (inviting a honest friend over to give us the home smell test). The product advises not to use plugged in until your cat is 6 months old. Reading into it, it seems that all automatic/self-cleaning cat litter boxes have the same advisory because of the cats weight (may not register) or because they will try to play with it while it’s doing is cleaning cycle. Despite the advisory, I’m very much into instant gratification and plugged it in immediately. Fortunately, I work from home and have time to monitor kitty’s behavior. When the machine starts running, she does run to it to watch, but she’s never tried to play with it.Keep in mind, we have had our kitten for 2 weeks now. She used a regular litter box for a week while with us. When I made the switch to this product, I removed the old litter box completely from the household. I did not put any of her used litter in this product. However, I did sprinkle (literally a dash of) fresh litter that was used in her old litter box to mix with the crystals for this product. The original litter that we purchased advertised kitten attraction to get them familiar where to go. I placed this product where her original litter box was. I’m not sure how people know if their cats love their litter box, but I guess if they use it that means they love it? Anyway, she began using it immediately. We have had no accidents.Other review concerns commentary:Poop sticking to the rake: had one experience with it, it was not terrible, and after it cycled a couple times it had fallen off the rake. Also, it was during good transition.Leaking litter tray: have not checked, a little scared to check. However, I would be surprised if it got through the tray and the lid to get to the floor. The disposable tray fits into the lid. Once it’s time dispose, you remove the lid from the tray and place it on top.Odor control: Literally no pee smell. Poop smell during food transition. Honest friend home smell test to come. My friend does not have a cat.Expensive: Yes. Expected, yes. It is not unusual when one buys things like this, they are going to have to fork out some money to maintain it. Someone buys a luxury car, they pay extra for maintenance. Faulting the product over how much it costs and how much the tray replacements is not fair in my opinion.Edit: Passed friend test.Still works great.Tray did not leak. I’ve replaced the tray at about 75 uses.Edit: 10/21/2022Still love this product. I’ve opted to buy the drop in top to keep the dogs away. Now that my cat is a little older, it is about a month of use before replacing. If people are having issues it is probably because they are not using it as intended or they feed their cats a poor diet.
A mi gato le encanta, le gusta mucho y cuando no puede hacer ahí por cualquier razón literalmente al volver a verlo lo abraza.
Does what it says it does. I bought this 3 months ago for 2 adult cats. This is a really good solution. It’s basically an automatic box without moving parts which makes it simple and reliable. I wouldn’t recommend the chrome accented version because at its core this thing is cheaply made and that version is more expensive. But this version while cheaply made is cheap to buy so I’m pretty ok with that considering it does its job well (lots of reviews complain about its cheap construction but forget how cheap it is to buy, I don’t want a 400$ robot box…). This version is also big and holds a lot of litter meaning it only needs litter added once or twice a week and a good size cat has space to do its thing. We roll it once a day at night when that cats seem to use it less giving everything in there time to clump and be dry. It takes some common sense to use but none of my concerns about messiness inside played out. Nothing sticks after a slap or two and it actually works the first roll the majority of the time. It’s so easy even after months no one complains about doing it every day. The grate did pop out once but not on me so maybe user error. I may run a screw or 2 in it if it becomes a problem and it can leak a very little bit of litter while rolling, but cats track litter anyway so its not like its adding extra cleanup. Overall the cats life has improved a lot because there box stays way cleaner, and we save money on not replacing the litter weekly. With the litter we use the box will be paid for in saved litter is less than 5 months. It could be faster but we have done a full change monthly even though its still pretty fresh.
Es facilísimo usarlo (me imagino que la calidad de la arena también ayuda) funciona muy bien
Muy buen producto
A fantastic litter box. Finally! A box that simplifies the task! At a reasonable cost. No need to spend half a grand.I was prepared for this not to work as simply and effectively as it does. After working with many other types and left frustrated, forever sweeping, vacuuming far down a hall (and holding my breath against smell), this box has made it so easy to clean regularly.Still a chore, of course, but not one so bad that you find any excuse to avoid, to the disfavor of your pet.In the action of tipping all the way over, back, and just a bit more, I was convinced it would spill everywhere. But, NO. NO litter on the floor. No need to worry about the lid coming off. The locking clips are secure and not touched when you roll. The added advantage of the rolling, is if you have a totally unconventional cat who does not scratch til the end of time to bury his #2, it will be covered by the time it is retrieved in the closed pull/drawer scoop.Have a small waste can liner open and ready. Pull out, deposit into waiting bag, return scoop to box, and close your bag.Almost no smell, and only for a tiny fraction of the time standing over an open box sifting from one end to the other.I have added litter just through the entrance to refill to line indicated on interior wall, so I haven’t needed to remove top.I only wish it came in an even larger size.We have three cats using it! (No problem at all to clean every day now. With the lower smell, we have it placed were it is passed several times a day. No shoving to a far corner, out of sight put if mind.)No, the reason I wish for a larger size is our grey mackerel tabby is a big American boy. He uses it without any issue, but I can’t imagine how he turns around in it. As he was my concern, I had left our previous box, an over size, open top with high walls, close to this when I set it up.He ignored that and went right to this!I will admit, I am so excited about this I am reviewing after only two weeks. It is entirely plastic. It has a slick surface on interior. With the shifting of the litter, build up sticking to the interior sides has not happened, yet.The built in screen/shelf for scoop, is one piece, bent to 90°angle, and clicked into place.I do not know how long I can go without totally disassembling for a wash. Time will tell how many opening and closing of the clips will add occur before a break. You will have to find a litter that fills your needs AND works with this box. The sifting wall is comprised of a long piece of plastic with long slots, alternating with slats of equal width plastic. Too big a granule of litter, or granules that swell large but don’t clump, will have you finding litter in the scoop. In sampling many varieties of litter, I had already been using one made from walnut shells. For a time, with previous box (and fewer cats), the box was in the bathroom and I flushed the waste; walnut shells are flushable. It naturally covers (most of the) smell. It creates no dust.It has no chemicals. It upsales/recycles a sustainable, green, waste product. (It really sickens me that as a culture we are using food, actual wheat and corn for cat litter; not the chaff and cob, but the grain!)It is relatively more expensive by weight, but have found it lasts a longer time. Not as much volume is used in covering and clumping. The recycled paper I tried did not clump or absorb (to my surprise). Also I could see that colored ink was in the mix and the types of ink were not listed.Every clay I tried had dust, even dustless. I didn’t like spending time sifting, outside, with a mask, so the cats wouldn’t be inhaling that.I use the medium size crushed walnut shells. The smallest stays in paws and one will find at farthest end of house. The pellets, though they absorb urine, don’t clump (perhaps they are suited for boxes with bases that strain onto a pad.) I have no idea if these would trigger a nut allergy in a susceptible person.
Spent some time browsing other options and sticker shock got me, until I came across this beauty. An excellent choice for your first self-cleaning litterbox. Minimal assembly required, easy to understand instructions and it simply works right out of the box. Sensors detect when Mr./Mrs. Meow exits after making a deposit, then slowly and quietly rakes the package into the front tray. This thing is (for) the cat’s a$$. Clumping litter not recommended for this model, use silica litter. Barely any odor detected! Comes with 1x cardboard disposable tray and 1x bag of silica litter.
Good, but a bit flimsy. Not as sturdy as they used to be. I had bought one years ago and loved it. This new one is good but has issues. The plastic wall cracked immediately I pulled on it; they’ve become much more flimsy. There’s no overhanging lip on the inside of the lid where it meets the pan, so if you’ve got wall-sprayers, urine can leak through to the outside. The locking tabs are always falling off, I don’t even put them back on any more. I like how tall it is and how it’s easy to clean with the curved sides. I don’t use the rocking feature and took out the tray, but it works great as a plain old litterbox.
Nice litter box and easy to assemble. I like it and my cats like it too! It was delivered with 95% assembled and only thing I need to do is reading the instructions and download the app. It is large enough for a mid size cat and comes with some trash bags, it is sweet and smart enough to keep a clean area for cats.
I ordered this product months ago and I was so pleased with it that I recommended it to every friend we have with pets! It is easy to use and makes the clean-up so much easier! I liked it so much I ordered a 2nd one but unfortunately pieces didn’t fit together properly and it leaked every time I used it. If this had been my first experience with the product I would have advised against it but I know it is a good product that works and my 2nd order was just defective. Amazon sent me the shipping label to return the defective one to them and I am still very pleased with the one that I first ordered.
Efficient and Convenient Auto Scoop Cat Litter Box with Minor Setup Hiccups. I recently bought the MagicScoop Auto Scoop Cat Litter Box and am quite pleased with its performance.Pros: Setting up this litter box was a breeze since it arrived as a fully assembled unit with all functions included. It was also a nice surprise to receive a full bag of cat litter with the purchase—such a thoughtful touch! I have been using it for a while. The auto-scooping feature works well, making daily maintenance much easier. I don’t think it would be perfect as a main litterbox if you have multiple cats. But it could work as a supplemental litter box just in case you need one.Cons: However, the instructions for setup could use some improvement. They’re a bit confusing, and getting the machine into “standby” mode for Wi-Fi setup was frustrating. It took longer than expected for the litter box to return to “standby” mode, adding to the setup hassle.Overall: Despite these minor issues, the litter box is worth its price. It delivers on its promises and significantly simplifies litter box maintenance. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable auto-scooping solution, even with a few setup glitches.

Perfect for multi cat family. I’m really impressive by this self cleaning box!! Both of my cats use it with no issue. It’s a game-changer for cat owners! The automatic cleaning works wonderfully, handling waste and controlling odors with ease, so I don’t have to scoop daily. It’s easy to set up and operates quietly. Given its quality and convenience, it’s a great value. Definitely worth the investment for anyone looking to simplify cat care!
Returned. Would not connect to wifi despite dozens of tries. Stuck in upper rake position. Would not properly fit into its original packaging with the rake stuck, but I had to send it back. Still awaiting my refund from Amazon. Not at all worth its high price. Never even got past set-up to use and see if cats would use and like. Save your $349: NOT RECOMMENDED at all. No response from Magic Scoop customer service, after I asked questions via email.
My cat likes his new toilet. Hey cat lovers, just wanted to share a quick note about this self-cleaning litter box. So first off, this litter box is is pretty big and spacious, which is perfect for most furball. The setup is easy, thanks to the app, you can control everything right from the app. One of the greatest things is the nonstick bottom, no more scraping and scrubbing stuck on litter. It also have motion detection what works like a charm. I’ve tested it several times with my hand before I put my cat to the test, lol and it stopped right away. Although the scooping process is slow, but it seems like it’s designed to thoroughly clean the litter. Overall it’s a great investment if you want to make litter box maintenance a lot easier.
