Pretty good leash. I found that the foam padding around the loop handle part was uncomfortable and actually made it harder to hold the leash so I removed it and now the leash is very comfortable and works well. It’s a good width and weight for my 11 lb. chihuahua mix.The foam padding around the handle had actually started to tear and come off on its own so I just decided to help it on its way and remove it completely, and since it was bothering me to begin with, it turned out to be a massive improvement.I’ve been using this leash for 9 months and had no problems with it since removing the foam padding. It is still in perfect condition and working out well. I feel very safe and confident when walking my dog that the leash will hold up under my dog’s normal pulling or if I have to suddenly pull her out of harms way from something.I ordered the 1/4 inch width, 6 ft. long purple leash. The actual width of the leash is a bit wider than 1/4 inch but smaller than a 1/2 inch so I’m not sure which width it is. All I can tell you is that I ordered the 1/4 inch width and it is working out well.I would recommend this leash and if the foam handle pad bugs you, it can be easily removed.
Great everyday walk leash. I don’t love the look at a honking leash with my 4lb papillon and this 1/4” leash is perfect. It’s thin and dainty, but durable. It looks pretty, has a strong and comfortable handle, and it’s not too long or short. Great everyday walk kind of leash, at an affordable? Don’t mind if I do! 5/5 from me.
Great buy. This is a great deal for the quality of this leash. It is very durable, I ordered the thicker one and it is pretty nice. My dog doesn’t chew on leashes so I can’t say how it would hold up to that. My dog does pull a lot so I was hesitant that the wrist cushion would make it feel like I am losing grip on my dog but it does the opposite. It sits nicely on your wrist so when your dogs pulls it doesn’t hurt your wrist but also doesn’t slide off. Love the color and reflective look as well. 10/10!!
Good, solid dog leash. I ordered this leash to go with my dog’s purple collar. The leash differs slightly in color from the collar which was a bit of a disappointment since they were purchased together. However, this is not a deal breaker just an irritant. The leash is quite serviceable; it is well made of sturdy material which thus far has not ripped, developed loose threads, or come apart where sewn. The stitches are uniform and have remained intact. Being stitched with reflective thread is a bonus; when I first saw it in the dark I was quite surprised how bright the reflection was. The loop on the end fits easily around the hand/wrist with room to spare. I appreciate the fact that the hardware utilized is metal and not a plastic substitute. We have received many compliments about the matching collar and leash. All in all, a good purchase which I would make again if need be.I do not think I am able to recommend for any particular breed of dog, but I do not see why this would leash would not be useful for just about any breed of dog. My dog is a 4 year old rescue Doberman weighing in at almost 70lbs. He was not leash trained when we first got him so he pulled a great deal. The leash held up to his pulling and never gave me any reason to doubt the security of the construction of the leash. With a harness and training he walks very well now on this same leash. Bright reflecting thread, nice quality. 4 months in: Happy with this bright, reflective leash! Slightly longer than standard, great for extra-large beasties. Padded handles are holding up great. Traffic handle is perfectly positioned to balance firm control w/ smidge of wiggle room. Love the handy D ring at the top, quality clasp worked fine in sub-zero temps. Dark brown color has not started to fade as expected. Overall, excellent value. You’re not paying for, or getting, the top-tier, heaviest-duty nylon, but this is very serviceable mid-grade, holding up solidly on a muscular, rambunctious 75# pup through age 2 yrs.
Read this if your dog bites through leashes. Our blue heeler/pit bull/velociraptor rescue can bite through nylon and leather leashes with ease, and does so every time we go for a walk and another dog gets excited. It’s ridiculous how quickly she destroys leashes. We decided to try this one, and it’s already outlasted any other leash we’ve owned, and still looks pristine. The rope and rubber handle are both strong and comfortable and we’re really happy with this leash.
Awesome. Great leash. Very strong & durable. The handle has foam & is very comfortable. I’ll be ordering another one. Unfortunately my dog pulls Alot & the leash has started to come apart. However I still believe the leash is well made.
Great leash. This is the second leash that I’ve purchased of this brand because I liked the first one so much. My dog is an avid puller on walks and the first one lasted for about two years before the lock feature started to slip up a bit due to her pulling. The leash is comfortable to hold and is durable. I’ve dropped it several times during walks and you can’t even tell. The lock feature is nice to use when needed and it doesn’t tangle. Try it for your dog. You won’t be disappointed!
Strong yet lightweight. I wanted a lighter (weight) leash to go with a Gentle Leader collar so there would be less pull on the collar. This is perfect. I held back a star because I wish the clasp was a little sturdier.
High qaulity. This is the first retractable leash I have owned that has not broken on me! Let me start by saying I have a 130 pound Cane Corso. This leash must be the correct thickness and have the right amount of strength in the stitching, because it has been a savior for us. We live the color options, and it’s sleek appearance. Not overly bulky either. I’ve used this with my Cane Corso and pitbull. Both have been secure and given me no scares with breaking. I am very pleased with the amount spent in comparison to the performance of the product
Great leash. First leash to order and I am always skeptical about everything. This was actually a great buy . Very good quality , perfect length and very comfortable with a bag holder. Definitely a must have .
Good, but the tape will fray. I walk my 50 pound lab mix roughly 2 miles daily. She can be a puller, and works her leash and harness hard. I l have used this model for four years now. The action works well, although over time the mechanism that locks the tape begins to slip. But the biggest wear point is the tape, which eventually frays. I originally bought this product in 2020 and began noticing the issue in 2021. The seller replaced it for me (thank you) and I was able to get 3 more years out of it (done as of today.) I did ask the seller for another replacement (long shot, I know) and they refused. Three years of daily use is still pretty good, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars, but going to try a different brand and see how it holds up.
Great leash. I bought this to walk my 85 lb lab and love the extra handle on it to hold her closer when I need to. The leash is very sturdy, comfortable to hold on long walks, and a vibrant purple.
Durable and strong. I have a 2 yr old German shepherd and i have been looking and looking for durable leashes and i have found it. It’s thick and the grip is very comfy in your hand. I feel confident walking my dog with this

Great for tangle free walks. This dog leash is a solid choice. The 16 ft nylon tape glides smoothly, and it really doesn’t tangle, even when my dog gets excited. The handle has a nice grip, and the brake and lock are easy to use. It’s been a great leash for our daily walks.
Amazing leash. Very well made, great color, better than expected. The hand grip is very soft. It even came with bags in the holder great leash especially for the price.
This is made really well. I have a medium size dog and he broke the last retractable leash I had. I only had it for a few months. This was is made allot better. It’s heavier and the cord is much thicker. The thing I really like about it is how long it is. I don’t have to step into the grass if it’s wet because it’s long enough to allow him to go way into the yard. Again, you can just tell this thing is made for a tank to pull it. It makes it easier to maintain my dog and sturdy when he just runs out.
Nice leash but doesn’t reflect light at night. This is an attractive, strong and comfortable leash, but it does not reflect light at night. For that reason, I probably would not buy it again since it’s unsafe to walk at night without something to help make you visible when you cross the street etc.(It would be fine if you were only going to use it during the daytime.)
Wow! Great Value, Excellent Product. The Joytale Dog Lease for Large Dogs is a excellent product and a great value! We put it to work right away. The materials are top quality. I purchased the 1 inch width. The handel is padded, which is comfortable. It has another padded handle about a foot our from the clip. This is very handy when I feel I need to have more control of my dog in certain situations. I am dealing w/a big puppy at the moment in very early stages of training. One of the best features is the double stiching. It glowes in the dark which is a huge saftey feature. I bought it in purple. It is very easy to use and I feel very substantial. Would buy again.
