I ordered this Valery Madelyn Black Maple Leaf Garland for Halloween Fall Decor, 9ft Pre-Lit Artificial Hanging Foliage to use as part of our Halloween decorations this year.

I have a few different Valery Madelyn decorations now, I like the combination of trendy style and inexpensive decorations. You get a bit of a high end boutique feel for a big box price, always a nice combination. At the current price ($14.99) this 9’ illuminated garland is inexpensive but adds a lot of macabre style to Halloween decorating.

This leaf garland comes in two colors, orange and black. I chose the black leaves because I liked the creepy, dark feeling that garland gave.

The garland is 9’ long and has 40 black maple leaves, each situated near a twinkle light. The lights are operated by a small plastic battery pack; you need two AA batteries (not included). You can set the lights to a timer setting, this allows them to shine for 6 hours a day and turn off for the other 18.

We love to decorate for Halloween, we maybe go a bit overboard, but after years of living in small apartments, having a yard to decorate is still exciting to my family. We live in NYC in a neighborhood known for good trick-or-treating, kids come from all over the city. We have people come back each year to see what we added that’s new; last year it was a 9’ inflatable headless horseman. This garland will be a great addition to our Halloween extravaganza.

One of my favorite things ever was when our house was on Google Earth for about six months in all its Halloween glory. We have a lot of fun decorating the house each year, and I’m always on the lookout for great, inexpensive decorations. This garland has a lovely, creepy Addams-family vibe, the juxtaposition of the black leaves and twinkle lights is great.

I love the convenience of the battery-operated twinkle lights, much easier for the yard than having to run an extension cord. I haven’t decided yet if these are going out in the yard or inside the house, they could look great on the mantle or running up the stairs in our front hallway. (We live in a tiny little house older than the Brooklyn Bridge, it does holidays well.)
